The focus of the Chemical Analysis Wing is mainly on analysis of commercial mineral/ ore samples like iron, manganese, coal, graphite, chromite, limestone & dolomite etc. The Laboratory is also engaged in Analysis of Mineral and rock samples collected by different field investigations. The laboratory is also capable of taking up analysis of water, coal and soil samples.
Steps have been taken by the Government for renovation of the government laboratories by procuring modern instruments like XRF, XRD, C.H.N.S. Analyzer, Iso Perible Bomb Calorimeter, Electromagnetic Separator etc. to keep in pace with the modern analysis techniques. The laboratory also looks forward to ISO-9000 Certification.
